A MINI WARDROBE UPDATE

October is well and truly in full flow and when it comes to fashion, I'm a pretty basic B. Autumn wear for me is built up of grey and black tones, possibly some navy, and a little more grey. It's safe to say I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to clothing. Because I work in fashion retail, my day to day work outfits consist of capri trousers, pretty tops, and smart dresses - which, don't get me wrong, I like - but when I get home all I want to do is be comfortable and cosy.
Today I'm sharing some bits I recently picked up to keep me super comfy and that are perfect for the cold weather transition.

I really like stripes, but for some reason I always feel like I steer away from them when shopping. Any sort of slogan item draws me in - I often have to stop myself from going on a spending rampage, otherwise slogan jumpers and tees is all my wardrobe would consist of. This red, navy and white striped t-shirt from Pull & Bear is wide fitting and boasts loose, drop seam sleeves, giving it that extra little detail. The wording is small and well placed, it's a nice change from the usual bold text or loud print. I love pairing this with boyfriend or mom jeans and a chunky western style belt. An oversized scarf is fundamental when it comes to building up your Autumn wardrobe. I'm a huge fan of checks and this reversible black and white check scarf from Primark is the scarf for A/W. It has a short fringing around the ends and is mega thick. I always worry with fashion items that they won't actually keep you warm but this baby brings the heat, let me tell you, it is the definition of cosy! Pieces like this are really versatile and be worn so many different ways with a tonne of different looks.

This black lace bralatte from Primark actually came as part of a set, but the knickers just didn't fit right. I've completely stopped wearing bras with underwire in now, I just find this sort of style to be so comfy and it's surprisingly supportive too. I do have small boobs, so there ain't much to support if I'm honest, but still. It has adjustable straps, as you'd expect, and fastens at the back. For me comfort is taking off your bra when you get home but this wee gem is so lightweight you barely feel like you're wearing one. It wasn't until I actually came to write this post that I realised that 3 out of 4 items I mentioned are from Primark, so my apologies that I can't actually link them. I can't help that they're such a good destination for everything! Lastly, this mustard beanie is a great add on to every single look and provides that pop of colour to any autumnal outfit. I've countless beanies but they're all either a weird colour that you can only wear with certain things, patterned or have slogans on them, so it was about time I made an essential, all round purchase that can be paired with (almost) any outfit.

What autumnal bits have you picked up lately? Do you have any of these pieces and what do you think of them?

  2. Wonderful pieces! I've been in love with stripes lately too, even though I think I own only two or one striped shirts 🤔😂
