I'm actually quite ashamed to admit that I've never tried NYX before. I know, right. Have I been living under a rock? Unfortunately my local Boots doesn't stock NYX, so I feel this has prolonged my first purchase. I decided it was about time to lose my NYX virginity, so I hopped online and threw whatever caught my eye into my basket. I already had a mental note of some products that I knew I had to have. The others were sort of picked up on a whim - I'd heard other bloggers mention them, and had read some pretty good reviews - so why not give them a go myself.
I've expressed before my love for Anastasia brow products but the Tame & Frame Brow Pomade is definitely a good contender. I like the packaging, it's small and lightweight but the formula isn't as creamy and as easy to apply as I would have liked. Colour pay off is good and it wears all day long! The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil is, for me, a must have. I've heard it mentioned hundreds of times and have jumped right on that old bandwagon. I got two shades; Milk, and Black Bean. I'm already obsessed with wearing Milk in my waterline and Black Bean is a fab base for a dark smokey eye. I can see me going through these pretty damn quick.
So basically I was after the matte setting spray but surprise surprise, everywhere was sold out. So I settled for the Dewy Finish Setting Spray. I'll be honest - this isn't for me. My first impressions were good but I think it's more suited for someone with dry/normal skin. It was long-wearing and I did have a dewy finish throughout the day but I just looked shiny as f and let me tell you, it was not cute. I've been wanting to experiment more with glitter for a long time so thought it would be best to arm myself with a good glitter primer. The NYX Glitter Primer is ace. It applies really smoothly and doesn't feel heavy at all, the glitter sticks great and it lasted all day. So I'm a very happy bunny especially with Halloween and Christmas coming up!
Last but not least I got two of the Soft Matte Lip Creams, Rome; a medium nude with browny-red undertones. And Transylvania, a deep violet. Both of these shades are absolutely gorgeous and perfect for that transition into Winter. They are really soft and not drying at all. I do find that the packaging appears darker than when they are actually being worn and I found I had to apply a few layers to avoid a streaky finish. Overall they're comfortable to wear and the shade range that is available is fantastic.
What are your go to NYX products? Have you tried any of these, and what were your first impressions?
