THE GLOWY BASE GUIDE

The weather has been very hit or miss recently, and the fluctuating temperature has left my skin looking a little on the dull side. I always love a dewy base when it comes to my own makeup, I like products that are hydrating and add radiance, without making me oily. I wanted to share my favourite saviours for brightening and adding that healthy glow to tired looking skin.

Starting off with primer, Benefit That Gal; a brightening primer with a gorgeous silky texture. I love how instantly my skin is brighter and awake looking. Strobe Creams are so versatile, they can be used as a primer before foundation, mixed with foundation to create a dewy finish, or on top of foundation to highlight. My go to is of course MAC Strobe Cream, it's filled with nutritious vitamins and green tea to help hydrate, smooth and refresh the skin. Makeup Revolution Strobe Cream is much the same, however the one noticeable difference (other than the price), is MUR has a more golden glow to it. Whereas MAC has an iridescent sheen.

I've recently fallen back in love with YSL Touché Eclat. I love the soft, subtle glow this gives to skin, it's so blendable and easy to apply. Touché Eclat is great for getting rid of signs of fatigue around the eye area and a little goes a long way. Last but most certainly not least, MUA Illuminating Liquid Glow (I have shade champagne) gives a beautiful warm and radiant finish to skin. It can be used as you would a strobe cream or liquid highlighter, on the high planes of the face to reflect light. Or again can be mixed with foundation to make you dewy af. Once blended this reminds me a lot of Benefit Watts Up highlighter in terms of colour and intensity.

What are your favourites for achieving the perfect glowing base?
