LUSH SUMMER BLOGGER EVENT

Lush doesn't really need an introduction, but for anyone who might not have tried Lush before, I can't recommend them enough. I've been a big fan of the company since the day dot but have mainly just stuck to bath bombs. I use their 9-5 cleanser as part of my daily skincare routine but apart from that I'm sad to say I've never experimented with any other products from them. I recently got an invite to attend their Summer Blogger Event at the Lush Livingston store. I was so excited to receive the email because I have never been to a blogger event before, and where better to attend my first ever one!

On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the lovely staff and also a glass of what can only be described as my new fave non-alcoholic tipple! We were divided into two groups and then began to work our way round the store. First off we had the extremely exciting task of making one of Lush's Fresh facemasks, Cupcake, from scratch. What I found the most interesting about this was how few ingredients are actually used. It was great to get hands on and opened my eyes to how fresh these facemasks really are. We then tubbed one up each to take home. I think we all did pretty good for our first attempt!

Next we moved on to the makeup section in the store (insert heart eye emoji here!). After getting the low down on their makeup range and the versatility of all of the products we each had an Emotional Brilliance reading. This is designed to show you what colours suit your personality. You close your eyes and the wheel is spun, then you open your eyes and you pick the first 3 colours that you're instantly drawn to. Each colour represents the shade of a product in their makeup range, each very cleverly named to reflect at attribute or ambition. So cool!

By far the most relaxing part of the evening, we were given a demo and taster of the Comforter treatment available at the Lush Spa. I can't even begin to tell you how incredible it was, the entire bottom half of my left arm has never felt so chilled and revitalised! It was of course given to us by one of the mega talented therapists who works at the Lush Spa in Edinburgh. The Comforter Treatment is described as 60 minutes of pure imagination, full of candyfloss, fantasy and bittersweet cacao kisses. (Hence the irresistibly sweet candyfloss drink). The nourishing chocolate and rose body serum (which smells a-mazing btw) is placed in a teacup, melted down in a bowl of warm water then softly but deeply massaged into the skin to leave you feeling happy and refreshed.

Next we got to take a closer look at the Naked products Lush offer. These are packageless products, designed to get rid of the rubbish that packaging becomes. Shown above are (left to right, top to bottom): Full of Grace, a facial serum made with Portobello mushrooms (random right but oh my gosh it smells fantastic!), and Amazonian butters to soften and calm skin. Buffy Body Butter is an exfoliating bar with hydrating fair trade cocoa butter and ground almonds - excellent when you need a good scrub! Pumice Power, great for exfoliating your feet, with a sweet orange smell. Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar (also shown above all lathered up!), and lastly Sugar Daddy-O, a hair conditioner with violet leaf, linseed and rose.

Last but not least we checked out some limited edition and exclusive products, and we got to see the Tennis Ball bath bomb, exclusive to the flagship Oxford Street store, in action! I had the best time and also received the cutest goody bag! (Shown below). A huge thank you to all the gorgeous girlies at Lush Livingston - you were all super kind and knowledgeable, and I hope I can come back soon for another event!
