A MATTE BASE FOR SUMMER

Finding the right foundation to suit your skin type can be tricky, and finding a primer that works in harmony with that foundation can make matters even harder. I've said before that Collection are continuing to impress with their current range of products and this duo are great for anyone on a budget. I've been on the hunt for a new matte primer for a while ever since my fave L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base has come to an end. I recently picked up two total bargains from Collection, their Prime & Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser Primer, and also their Naturally Matte Foundation

The Mattifying Pore Minimising primer is powered by witch hazel which has natural anti-blemish properties to help keep skin clear. It applies so smoothly onto skin and creates the perfect base ready for foundation. Or if you just want to reduce shine on a 'no makeup' day, then you can use this to give a natural matte skin finish. Collection Natural Matte foundation is surprisingly long wearing for a "budget" foundation. It's enriched with minerals for a fresh, flawless complexion, and contains UVA and UVB sunscreens to help skin stay protected outdoors. I love that it's fragrance free too as this can be irritating to some skin types. What's your fave primer and foundation combination?

  2. Hi Jenny! Super post with the guidelines (and the relatable situation of looking for the right foundation). Collection's makeup packages look really lovely too, as I can see with the foundation and primer. Quick question, do they ship worldwide and what's their official website?
Otherwise, lots of love and support from this blogger here.

    1. Thanks Diana. I think it's collectioncosmetics.co.uk but I normally just purchase mine from Superdrug. Xox

  5. Finding a primer to suit my foundations is something I've really struggled with. I think that's part of why I've largely given up with primers. I really should work on figuring it out. Xx

    1. I'm still struggling to find my 'holy grail' primer, I've found ones I love but not that I'd continue to repurchase over and over, there will be one out there for us both somewhere! Xox

  6. Such a lovely post! I love matt foundations for summer since I melt the moment I step outside my home. :D And in case I don't need a lot of coverage I go for a light BB cream or concealer. :) Also, using a good primer really helps with makeup melting now in summer but I must say that I still haven't find the prefect one for me.
